My yellow seagull
symbolizes the freedom that eludes people with Parkinson's disease.
There is an adjustable nut on the back of the yellow bird that
allows for dependable and graceful movement. The color yellow
symbolizes hope, courage and perseverance, all of which have
been critical for me in recognizing and embracing the continuing
and exciting possibilities for the creation of art in my life.
I am the orange
gull-different from the others, but still standing.
There is something
I can do.

There
is something that you can do, too.
More than 1.5 million
people are afflicted with Parkinson's Disease in the United States
alone. Over 6 million people around the globe struggle with its
debilitating symptoms. And, its victims aren't just the elderly.
Countless children and young adults are diagnosed with Parkinson's
Disease every day.
Funds are desperately
needed for continued research and support. That's why Mike and
his wife, Anne, have dedicated themselves to raising money for
the cause.
Mike and Anne are
long-time donors to the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation, which
strives to improve quality of care for the Parkinson's patient
through awareness, education, care and advocacy. In 2006, they
also joined forces with The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which
is focused on finding and funding a cure for Parkinson's.
Unfortunately,
Mike can no longer create his one-of-a-kind garden sculptures,
which were sold to raise money for these Parkinson's foundations.
However, he and Anne hope you will continue to support those
organizations that strive to better the lives of all those who
are touched by this disease.
